PROJECT OVERVIEW

Designing Privacy is an ongoing research project and discussion between the studios Department of Unusual Certainties and Present–Futures, with the aim of furthering the public conversation surrounding “privacy” in this digital age.

Our first event was a panel discussion held during Toronto design offsite 2017, exploring the designer’s role in addressing digital privacy. Through conversation, and our panelists’ industry specific examples, a framework of privacy considerations emerged.

Through this project we hope to continue to develop, modify and, if necessary, replace components of this framework through experimentation.
